National Sustainability Day<\/strong> is a date that raises awareness of the importance of environmental<\/strong>, economic<\/strong> and social<\/strong> sustainability for the country and the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Portugal was the first country in the world to celebrate this date, in 2023!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This date was decreed by the United Nations (SDGs) in 2015, when they officially presented the 17 Sustainable Development Goals<\/strong> (https:\/\/sdgs.un.org\/goals<\/a><\/em>) to be implemented by 2030.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Today is an opportunity to reflect on the impact of human actions on the environment and society and to encourage more sustainable practices such as reducing the consumption of natural resources, encouraging recycling and the use of renewable energies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Focused on a more sustainable future, the Paka Group has been implementing a number of practices that can benefit the planet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What practices Paka Group has implemented?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Energy efficiency<\/strong>: Installation of a photovoltaic system to reduce energy costs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sustainable fleet<\/strong>: Replacing the car fleet with vehicles that reduce pollutant emissions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Plastic reduction<\/strong>: Replacing plastic cups with environmentally friendly bottles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Recycling<\/strong>: Ecopoints to facilitate the separation of recyclable materials.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In a world that is increasingly aware of and concerned about the impact of human actions on the environment and society, the intervention of companies is becoming essential in order to meet environmental and social challenges. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

As the main contributors to the economy, companies have a significant impact on resource consumption, carbon emissions and waste generation. By promoting sustainable practices, they not only contribute to the preservation of the environment, improve operational efficiency, but also strengthen their resilience in a market that is increasingly aware of environmental issues. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Companies have a crucial role to play in the transition to a greener, more sustainable economy. But sustainability will only be achieved if there is a joint effort between governments, companies and society. Small changes in the daily behaviour of each of us, however simple, will contribute to the preservation of natural resources and a more sustainable and balanced future for generations to come. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
